I’ve felt like I’m loosing my magic because I haven’t done many photshoots this autumn and those what I’ve had have been so similar with posing and look. Okey, really big part of this feeling is all those photos for my Advent calendar, but the point is that I really needed change!

Because of that, and watching few hours femme fatale themed film noir movie clips, we decided to do extempore photoshoot with S. Hartikainen. I did very simple and glamorous look with a touch of old Hollywood glamour and dressed up with long sequin dress and here is what we got:

I’m really happy with the outcome! But I can’t help connecting this photos to Snow White’s Evil Queen 😀 You know the phrase

Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?

I’m also happy to share you few simply tricks to get this kind of look!

  1. The first and the most important thing is that you never think that ”I don’t have dresses like that”. When you are posing for photos with black dress there is many things that you can do to fool a bit. For example, I’ve added tulle skirt under my dress to get that big mermaid effect. You can try to do the same thing with black over knee pencil dress and basic underwear tulle.
  2. Second thing is the feathers on the shoulders. It’s actually feather boa that I got from carnival store. They aren’t expensive and there is many ways to use them as accessory. I fold the boa and tided it to my bra braces to make it look bigger and stay still. When you use this kind of big accessories make sure that they don’t hide your shape. The other accessories I have bought from my favorite shops; Jewelry from Underground Store and gloves from AntiShop
  3. The last tip that I’m going to share is for the make-up and hair. This kind of Glamorous photos are usually those where less is more. I used only black and white for eyes, neutral brown for bush and of course the same shade of red for lips that my hair color is.I usually do my eye shadow with banana shape. It means that I first but light color to whole eyelid and the do the shadow with darker color. The shadow is kind of banana shaped and the right place for it is there where you eye turns to skull. To make really dramatic look, I added a lot of eyeliner and really big fake lashes. These curls I made with straightener, I think it’s the best way to do so called Hollywood waves. You can do that by twisting the straightener. After that I styled the waves with big metal clips and really strong hairspray.
